Using dates as a sweetener has many advantages over refined sugar, which is why MAKRi deliberately avoids refined sugars, and other additives and extenders, such as palm oil or butterfat. Their fine cocoa comes from the exquisite cocoa beans of the Dominican Republic, and their Deglet Nour dates ripen in the Tunisian sun before they are finely ground.
