Strictly speaking, it was a coincidence that helped HELGA get into the bottle. Dr. Anneliese Niederl-Schmidinger was actually working on new technologies for the cultivation of microalgae as a base for bio-diesel. She took note of the immense nutrient density of the green Chlorella algae, which contains many unsaturated fatty acids and high-quality proteins as well as numerous other building blocks for our daily health, and enthusiastically set out on a search for a way to bring this “algae power” to the market. Together, with her colleague Renate Steger and friend Ute Petritsch, she developed “HELGA”–derived from “healthy algae”. The rest is a true success story – and a true superpower in bottles!
